Not far from the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Arizona should not be neglected in your travel of southwestern vacation destinations. The area is popular for the red rocks of Sedona, Wupatki National Monument and the Meteor Crater. There are Native American communities to visit and the Western legacy of our pioneers. In the San Francisco Peaks you will find alpine forests with shaded paths.

Right in Flagstaff you can go to Lowell Observatory for fun tours. Visit the Pioneer Historical Museum, or experience true Route 66 nostalgia. Heritage Square is a gathering spot downtown where you can enjoy much free entertainment.
You will have no problem with lodgings for your stay. Find a quiet and peaceful Bed and Breakfast with views of the mountains, or one with a quiet garden gazebo. There are plenty of hotels and motels to choose from.
If you are coming from Bryce Canyon National Park, you want to go on UT-12 to US-89 to I-40 that will take you right to Flagstaff. Flagstaff is easy to get to from any direction.
